Happy Navaratri from Shaktidhaam Ashram! During the 9 days of Navaratri festivities, Shaktidhaam Foundation is offering 3 very special ceremonies to honor the Divine Mother. We welcome tens of thousands of people from around the Kashi area to celebrate with us.
DURGA PANDAL : In the front courtyard of Shaktidhaam Ashram, we constructed a “Pandal,” or temporary shelter, that houses our life-size Durga murti. We estimate that 10,000 people will visit the Pandal and receive Durga’s healing energy during the last 3 days of Navaratri. Twice a day, one of our beloved pundits will offer Puja and Aarti to the Durga murti.
KANYA PUJA : Nine young girls have been chosen from the local Kashi community to serve as nine forms of Divine Mother . Indians worship one of these forms each day during the nine days of Navaratri. Honoring and activating the nine forms will take place during the Kanya Puja conducted by our pundits at Shaktidhaam Ashram on the last day of Navaratri. The girls and their families are excited and honored to participate in the ceremony.
HOLIDAY BHANDARA : Shaktidhaam Foundation offers a Bhandara (blessed meal) at every sacred holiday celebration. On the last day of Navaratri, we will feed up to 500 local children and their families , and anyone who drops by, a hot nutritious meal. Many of these children and families cannot afford regular meals . We are deeply touched each time we witness the joy and appreciation of those who attend.
Because of YOU and your generous donations , these celebrations, sacred ceremonies, and hot meals are possible. We at Shaktidhaam Foundation are eternally grateful for your generosity and open-heartedness. YOU are the cornerstone for everything we do.
“Feed one person, just one person. And if you can afford to feed more than one, please do so. Start to realize there is somebody that you know on a soul level who needs to be fed.” ~ Sai Maa
